The two less-than-refined Englishmen in Simian Mobile Disco play loud, raucous dance music that slots in with the likes of Justice, Digitalism, LCD Soundsystem, Rex The Dog, and scores of other acts who draw energy wherever they find it. In Simian's case, that energy comes mostly from electro-house, a sound that skews toward big and thwacking on dance-floor stormers like "Sleep Deprivation" and "Hustler." Some of the songs on Attack Decay Sustain Release feature vocals in various call-and-response styles, but more are tracks like "Tits & Acid," which employs hard, tight sirens and bangs in service of ideas that register without a need for explication.
