Fresh off a headline-making reunion, NSYNC is back with its first release in nearly 20 years, Better Place. The single was released on Friday as part of the Trolls Band Together soundtrack.
With 19 years passing since Justin Timberlake left the group and 10 since their last group performance, rumors about NSYNC reuniting at the VMAs came with reports of the group recording their now-revealed Better Place track part of the third Trolls installment.
The film will follow Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Timberlake), who are officially a couple. Poppy quickly realizes that Branch has a hidden past as a member of the boy band BroZone with his four brothers who seemingly reunite in the films trailer. Noticeably, the trailer, too, includes references to Timberlakes boy band roots:
Branch, were out of synch. Weve gone from boys to men, and now theres only one direction for us to go: The backstreets!
The boy band confirmed their musical reunion in a behind-the-scenes look clip showcasing each member recording their individual parts of the track. Wait, thats the first NSYNC song finished in 23 years? Lance Bass asked at the end of the track. Timberlake replied: Listen man, I love you guys. That shit is that shit is epic, man.
Along with stars Timberlake and Anna Kendrick, the film also features Camila Cabello, Troye Sivan, Kid Cudi, Daveed Diggs, Amy Schumer, Andrew Rannells, RuPaul Charles, Zosia Mamet, Zooey Deschanel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Icona Pop duo Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt, Anderson .Paak, Ron Funches, Kunal Nayyar and Kenan Thompson.
Trolls Band Together will premiere in theaters on Nov. 17. The film is directed by Walt Dohrn and Tim Heltz while Gina Shay produces.
