turnover time:2024-11-21 01:58:40

Avenged Sevenfold began the third leg of their “Life Is But A Dream…Tour”n March 6th in Buffalo, pulling out all the stops for their first performance in the city in over a decade. The New York crowd was treated to two live debuts, several revived tracks, and as many heavy hits as you’d expect from the famed Southern California metal band.

With support from Poppy and Sullivan King, this Avenged Sevenfold concert was a visual and auditory feast from start to finish. M. Shadows and his bandmates had fans flashing the sign of the horns from the moment they took the stage, performing new tracks “Game Over” and “Mattel with epic guitar riffs and hair-raising emotion.

This Avenged Sevenfold tour is firstly a celebration of 2023’s Life Is But a Dream, their eighth album and first new project in seven years. However, they also had no issue performing a few deep cuts for the Buffalo audience. These include “Shepherd of Fire,” which they played for the first time since 2018, a shocking renewal of “Blinded In Chains” after 18 years, and lastly, “Save Me,” which hadn’t hit the ears of metal fans since 2011.

Continuing their custom mix of nostalgia and new tunes, A7X amplified the Buffalo crowd’s excitement with every performance. They worked through a live debut of “Roman Sky” before charging into old favorites like “Bat Country,” “Nightmare,” “Hail To The King,” and “Unholy Confessions,” powered by elements of not only heavy metal but also emo, punk, and hardcore.

Whenever an Avenged Sevenfold concert rolls into town, you can expect a mix of faces in the audience. Some are elder emo’s who grew up on A7X, along with The Used and My Chemical Romance in the mid-2000s. Others are lifelong metalheads who view them as todays Pantera or Metallica, while the rest are just along for the ride and ready to rock.

Avenged Sevenfold catered to every type of music lover in the crowd in Buffalo, even as the night winded down but their fans’ energy did not. The final song was a live debut of “Cosmic” off the group’s latest album, representing an ethereal night and exciting times ahead. The good news? You can relive this Avenged Sevenfold concert in Buffalo over and over again - they have plenty more upcoming shows!
