Ex-Action Figures: Ex-Action Figures

Ex-Action Figures is a pop band, and its music is what pop is about. It's as hook-laden and quirky as pop should be, and it invites you to jump around the room exactly the way pop music should. The strange thing about the band's eponymously titled full-length debut is that none of its music seems appropriately catchy. With the huge exception of the bounce-on-the-bed-able "Sic Teen," none of the album's songs stick with the listener for longer than it takes to listen to them. Still, during the listening period, a normal human being will be all grins. And there's no reason this music shouldn't grow on you, either, because a normal person will want to play this record several hundred consecutive times.
