Pig: Sinsation
Pig: Sinsation
turnover time:2024-11-25 15:04:54

Now the bridge between metal and industrial is complete, with Raymond G. Watts, aka Pig, having pounded the last rivet. One thing is certain about rivets, and that's that they all look alike. Sinsation, the man/band's debut rivet, has all the charm and wit of a pack of snotty 12-year-old kids, and all the originality of a black velvet painting. Watts includes ominous samples of people talking about the final battle of armageddon, sings about serial killers, and gives his album an inexcusably retarded name (that's Sinsation). With all these trappings, there's little difference between Pig and, say, Blue Oyster Cult. Sinsation is an embarrassment that should evoke sympathy for the way it desperately falls back on such a wide variety of industrial trappings—most of which were clichés five years ago.
