No window, no bay, no door,

but a black dead night

and weary beasts are sleeping within,

having forgotten about their future, having deserted every place in the world.

They don`t want to think about the past,

there were so many deaths in their past,

There was coolness of prison cells

and melodies of rusty chains.

They don`t want to know about their descent,

Their hope is far away from misfortune.

Their freedom is to always escape

covering their tracks on the way.

The beasts look into the gloomy sky

still trying to see the horizon.

And they have a slice of stale bread

and some mouldy tea for supper.

Tell me what you are grieving for,

I`ll take your pain like my own.

It`s a pity that all others have consealed themselves in their burrows

and left you and me staying on the very edge of the abyss.

Sing me a song about the cross and the cupola,

about hope and faith above all faiths.

But love is a cage and I`m cornered again

like a helpless wounded beast.
