When youth was my blessing
Then innocent and naive
All was joyful, not depressing
No reason for me to decieve
No knowledge of the ugly
No fear of the unknown
Just living each day happily
In the warmth of my home
But now the age opens eyes
They see the truth begot
Show the wisdom of the wise
The ignorance now wrought
How I wish to be so young
To forget the troubles today
To sing those songs we sung
To skip, to laugh, and to play
