Only as names we remember them walking
towards the twilight past history
and those creatures, like your own voice
is only heard when you're not listening
Animal-gods with monstrous masks, human bodies,
let go of their might and become mere tales
When you awoke to your own scream
and your neck bowed
something moved behind the curtain and you saw,
what you saw, truly a horned creature
;Twisting, cavorting, screaming and laughing
along grabbing to the dancing madness
singing, wrestling, mocking, taunting,
why from rage and joy weeping
you drag along;
Everything forgiven,
sheets hung out to dry
windows washed and yard raked
ashamed the dream to the bed is left
Words break down, chores end
as behind the treeline
beasts bellow and graggers jeer along
