When others go to work
I roll over in bed
The idea is not so stupid:
You make your bed and then lie in it
In the past I slaved away
Was usually tired and exhausted
Today I know what living means:
You make your bed and then lie in it
Billy Joe and I, the two of us
Made ourselves a nest
Like the sparrows on the roof
People looked stupidly
He plays bass in a band
And money is tight
Just enough for the rent and some chips
And a small car in the yard
When others go to work
I roll over in bed
The idea is not so stupid:
You make your bed and then lie in it
You make your bed and then lie in it, right
And nothing else is important at all
You make your bed and then lie in it, right
And nothing else is important at all
When the neighbour pays his taxes
He gets wrinkles in his face
And his gall bladder hurts
He's a poor wretch
And then he gets angry
When he sees we're fine
In the suit that fits us best
Without panic, without haste
When others go to work
I roll over in bed
The idea is not so stupid:
You make your bed and then lie in it, right
And nothing else is important at all
You make your bed and then lie in it, right
And nothing else is important at all
You make your bed and then lie in it, right
And nothing else is important at all
You make your bed and then lie in it, right
And nothing else is important at all
You make your bed and then lie in it, right
And nothing else is important at all
