Yesterday when I heard it
I'm still doubting my ears
Alice is gone
Someone said she had boarded a plane
And someone said she had stepped onto a train
But it's all the same to me
Alice is gone
For fifteen years I craved her
And then a black limousine was seen turning
Which took her away and no one saw the driver
Why would she have done this to me
and snuck away without telling her address
Who in the world is that man
that got her to go with him?
Yesterday when I heard it
I'm still doubting my ears
Alice is gone
Someone said she had boarded a plane
And someone said she had stepped onto a train
But it's all the same to me
Alice is gone
For fifteen summers, no less
I wondered how I could get into a closer relationship with her
When I always saw her daily back then
She was the fairest girl in the suburb
And every moment I wanted her more
That loveliest lady enchanted me with flying colors
When I heard those news
I threatened to
get wasted right now
It would only be a moment's comfort
When I guess I could never forget about her
Why did she leave me?
For fifteen years I loved in secret
But she handled my feelings like a freezer
When I almost started building a love nest
But when I was left alone in the neighborhood
There's only a rueful thought on my mind
That there can't ever be a new summer for me
Without her there can't in any way be a new summer
