You (po*) who's sitting down
Why don't you try to get up?
Maybe you'll see, and maybe you'll see
My real condition
(You know,) It goes like this...
Anybody home?** Are you there inside that
Huge house and spacious backyard
Surrounded by tall walls
and expensive cars in line,
(by) Guards who are always whispering.
There's no wedding but many are in barongs(Filipino suits)
Even if rain pours harder, the roof has no hole
Plates and spoons that do not know burnt rice
And the rice is as white as milk in a carton box
And even if it's not Christmas, there's ham on the table
How nice it would be to live in a house like that
They even say that it's there where you will find
The person who owns a chair
That when opporunity is there, it's fought over
That's why he won't let go (of it)
If only I'll see him/her, I'm going to yell at him/her.
You (po) who's sitting down
Why don't you try to get up?
Maybe you'll see, and maybe you'll see
My real situation
Excuse me (po)
To the one who's seated,
Do you know our pantakal(measuring cup) for rice is not full
(that)The walls of our house is a patchwork of yero***
And at night it's too hot that it melts ice---
that we can't afford to buy to put in our drink--
Boiled water in an old coal-burnt teapot--
Using firewood that's just drifting in open canals,
That in the morning, our bathroom serves as our kitchen
(that) My mother has a treasured cauldron--
that's used when my father gets a pay
But it's still very insufficient--
A viand of dried herring and salt
A dollar is to suffice for the whole day
I don't know if there's really lot of barriers
Or the walls are too high
Or your feigning blindness
Even with your tons of money
No doctor can make your eyes clearer
So..
Don't be too obvious
Stone, Stone in the sky****
Whoever gets hit should not get mad
stone, stone in the sky
Whoever gets hit..
don't be too obvious.
