Seems that skies decided
To test the durability of us
With the sequence of unending disasters
Tighher and tighter are the clamps
More and more difficult are the lessons
More and more scary are the scales of consequences
Under the leaden rain,
Entrapped beneath the ice,
And dying from thirst in sands,
Surrounded by shadows,
And in delirium and in a dream
In the most horryfing one, I keep repeating:
"I'm not afraid"
Patiently bent
The reed its thin stem
Nestling closer and closer to the water
Icy winds,
Snowfalls and hails
Bend it more and more angrily
But will not break it
In an endless fall
In anxious visions
Which do excite the exhausted soul
Along the blade
As a password, as a prayer
Repeat hundred times in a row:
"I'm not afraid"
Patiently bent
The reed its thin stem
Nestling closer and closer to the water
Icy winds,
Snowfalls and hails
Bend it more and more angrily
But will not break it
Indifferent waves,
Arrows of the fiery lightnings
Will pass through me more than once1
But so light and weightless
Are the ships on the horizon
And you're with me and nothing else matters
Far far away
The echo of our steps
Will fade away in the cold air
Let nothing confuse me
On this way
Nor frighten
Nor break
Patiently bent
The reed its thin stem
Nestling closer and closer to the water
Icy winds,
Snowfalls and hails
Bend it more and more angrily
But will not break it
1. Literally "will pass through me not once (but more times)", but i found it a bit confusing
