A world where men thrive
A world where they slay so
One another without provocation
For things and ideas illogical
A kingdom of superstitions
Where they bartered themselves
Where they exterminate others
Did children die, did they ever live
What woeful voice ventured in
To poison their hearts, their minds
That creativity and arts well being
Should fall prey to insidious hatred
What dark day or dreary night
Washed away their innocence
And replaced it with such disdain
That stole the glow from their eyes
This can't be real, it can't be so
What reasoning in our evolution
Has failed men so, failed feeling
There is no fair taste to blood
Its bitterness quakes deep
But like a drug without a remedy
Its addiction seems surreal
Intentional destruction sought
And when their end nears them
They find the rest they shared
Shared so willingly, so benumbed
Only agonal breaths to ponder so
