See their ships cutting through the mists
As whispers in the wind herald our bliss
Forces from abroad have heeded our call
An alliance is forged to aid us all
Their ships have crossed the cold waves
Our allies, crawling every river, every stream
Saxons on our shores bleeding for our cause
Deeds to our land, reward their stand
The wind now whispers of a threat in the east
Friends will be foes as the alliance is breached
See the fires burning in the heartlands
Our enemies, crawling every river, every stream
We thought our salvation emerged from the channel’s violent waves
Yet we invited our doom, for you intended to stay
You betrayed us and degraded, you took our hearts away
You dubbed us “stranger” and called our lands your own
1. The Britons called upon Germanic mercenaries to help them protect their lands. But the mercenaries didn't come for gold, they demanded land. Their intention was to stay. But when the Britons turned down their demand the Saxons turned against them. They slaughtered their leaders and gained control over their lands. More and more Saxons settled in Britannia and drove the Britons to what is now known as Wales. The native tribes now had become strangers in their own land.2. https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urd
