Sylvian joululaulu [English translation]

And so the christmas made it's way to the northern land once again,

Christmas got into our chest.

And the Christmas trees are creating shine

To the small cabins already.

But up in the perch there still remains

The cage, that confines my (one that makes chirp noises)

And the moaning of the prison has ended.

Oh, who could remember the sorrow of a singer?

Where cypresses smell now even in winter time,

I sit on the branch of the most gallant tree.

Where the waters loom,

wine is the most foamy

And the weather always like in may.

And I can even beautifully see Etna from far away,

Oh this all charms me and makes my head dizzy.

And the songs gently playing in the grove,

Who could tell it's more rich joys!

The one star that shines the brightest now make your radiance

To my finland far away!

And when that shine of yours shall end,

You shall bless the country of memories!

One alike I will never get from anywhere else,

The most merciful and dearest for me is always the land of Finland

And for that praise the song of Sylvia is playing,

And it always plays as the most harmonical of all.
