The Yoik of a Wolf
Whipped by a wild wind,
Beaten up by quite a breeze,
A fierce wolf ran,
Hurried a wolf blue-eyed.
Through mountains, fjelds,
Was a great song heard,
Through the woods, through the wilderness,
??? a firm yoik.
The yoik of a wolf is heard in the night,
The howling echoes all the way to the moon,
The yoik of a wolf is forever heard
The howling is also clanging in the night.
The wolf lapped water from the stream,
drank from the Kymikoski(?)
Wild blood in its heart,
Rapids in its veins.
Makes its way across the wide marshes
Travels over swamps ,
With only one thought in its mind,
A wolf’s bride in its head.
The yoik of a wolf is heard in the night
The howling echoes all the way to the moon,
The yoik of a wolf is forever heard
The howling is also clanging in the night.
