Here collective guilt1 smears like a petrol2
I am taking someone’s hand, but I'm sensing an elbow
I am looking for an eye, but I'm feeling a gaze
In the place where ass is on top of the heads
A red sunrise precedes a pink 3 sunset.
Chained up by one chain.
Bound together by one aim.
Chained up by one chain.
Bound together by one…
Here joints are sapless and the space is enormous
Here train cars were crushed for the building of columns
There are some words for streets and another for kitchens
Here the eagles4 were dumped to make room for the chickens
And I try to keep in line even my kisses
With those
Who are chained up by one chain.
Bound together by one aim.
Chained up by one chain.
Bound together by one aim
We5 can believe in the absence of faith
We can do even absence of deed6
The poor are praying, praying to wraith7
Of the fact that their poverty is guaranteed
You can play a trombone8, but just in your head
Yet whatever you do you will play a retreat
And if there are those who will break with you bread
There will be those who will dig you a pit9
Also
Chained up by one chain.
Bound together by one aim.
Chained up by one chain.
Bound together by one…
Here women are searching, but they'll run out of options10
Here the measure of labor is an exhaustion
Here there is no villains in possession of a plane11
Here the first and the last are all looking the same
And maybe the first are also tired of game12
Of being
Chained up by one chain.
Bound together by one aim.
Chained up by one chain.
Bound together by one aim.
Chained up by one chain.
Chained up by one chain.
Chained up by one chain.
Chained up by one chain.
Chained up...
