If I were a friend of God's
if I knew prayers
if I had blue blood
the gift to erase everything and recreate it
if I were a queen or sorceress
a princess, fairy, a grand captain
of a noble regiment
if I had the feet of a giant
I'd put the sky in misery
all tears in the river
and burst into blossom the sands from which hope comes
I'd plant utopias, kneeling would be forbidden
people would no longer look away
If I had thousands and hundreds
the talent the force or the charms
of the leaders, the powerful
if I had the key to their souls
if I knew how to take up arms
in the fire of an army of titans
I would light the flame
in the extinguished dreams of children
I'd make colors out of punishments
I would create a heaven
for those without luck, for those without stars, for those with less than nothing
But I have nothing more than a heart in rags
and two stretched out arms - two twigs
a voice whom the wind chases in the morning
but if our bare hands gather
our millions of hearts assemble
if our voices unite
what winter could withstand them
A strong world an earth with the soul of a sister
we we build in their ashes
little by little, crumb by crumb
drop by drop and heart by heart
little by little, crumb by crumb
drop by drop and heart by heart
