Will you come to me tonight?
The clean laundry is already dry in the courtyard.
Wars never end,
And now the war is going on somewhere.
And everything repeats without stopping
By itself, just like a horse without a rider.
And in the evening the house is closed
With everything good or bad that is in it.
And we knew well why the borderline is
Close at hand, and we are not allowed to cross it.
My father prayed: “And his strength is
The earth and all the hosts.”
The army and the land were darkened,
A little more and the light goes out.
The commandment the Lord gave in the beginning1
We two have again to stop to observe.
Will you come to me tonight?
The clean laundry is already dry in the courtyard.
Wars never end,
And now the war is going on somewhere.
