Me – I am a simple man – I believe in what is said.
They say – get up and go – I go.
I make my money with my hands, not my head
I don’t sin with a pride nor a shame.
My door is open for the people,
You can’t take much from me,
But if somebody hits me –
He’ll get back even more – I am not Jesus Christ !
Me – I am a simple man – I believe the wise,
I try not to stand in the way of smart,
I don’t speak much, rather hear,
I get as much, as I can.
For the hungry I have a plate and a table,
From what I have made – I’ll give a half.
But if somebody reaches for all –
I’ll break his hands – I am not Jesus Christ !
Me – I am a simple man – I save my blood,
I don’t spill it for nothing,
I prefer my life to unsung death
For promises and hopes.
To other I will also give my blood
As long as there is enough for me.
But if somebody tries even a drop to suck –
From his throat I’ll take it back – I am not Jesus Christ !
Me – I am a simple man – why should I even complain,
They either snow me with sweet words or shake a warning finger.
Everybody carries his cross thru life,
And then they add him another stone.
If I can carry it, it’s fine, no – then not:
Start trembling when the blood goes to my head !
