I started this mad race of mine as if swept away by the wind
And I’ve been floating floating floating floating on air ever since
Escaping conjecture, I craved adventure –
Though I’m only featherweight, let me aim straight for the moon
And I can hear the laughter at my passage,
I’m too fragile, or so it might appear,
But since criticism doesn’t stick to plumage,
Being a feather makes things easier.
And when I fall, in my dreams I see the hot air lifting me,
A swallow swooshing down to bring me back up on a wing.
Having known only shadow and long winter nights,
Now I want to meet the sun and see what it’s like.
Just see what it’s like
Just see what it’s like
And so I go on and if I’m to get lost, I don’t care,
As long as I float float float float float on air;
Escaping solitude, I craved altitude –
Featherlight, lead balloon, happiness is better than fortune.
Just see what it’s like
Just see what it’s like
And when I fall into the void
I have no more doubts,
It’s my joy that’s holding me up,
And if I’m wrong, so be it,
I won’t regret a thing.
My only focus right now is today,
It’s too late for yesterday,
And tomorrow is still far away.
And if I get burned, so be it…
And when I fall, in my dreams I see the hot air lifting me,
A swallow swooshing down to bring me back up on a wing.
Having known only shadow and long winter nights,
Now I want to meet the sun and see what it’s like.
And when I fall, in my dreams I see the hot air lifting me,
A swallow swooshing down to bring me back up on a wing.
Having known only shadow and long winter nights,
Now I want to meet the sun and see what it’s like.
Just see what it’s like
Just see what it’s like
