I asked the snakes about a secret matter:
“How do I turn back to me as before the heart of my love?”
And they answered me in a thousand whispers:
“Go to the south with the wind
Among the golden fleece clouds pick up seven golden flowers.
For your love who went there to wander -
Golden flowers.”
I went to the south, asked the wind:
“Where are the cloud fields of the golden fleece?”
“A about a three days walk without rest”
Answered the wind and passed hurrying.
So I went on my way to the enchanted field.
And to the stony trail I said: ”His heart will turn around”.
And there I saw, shining in the sun, the golden flowers.
I sent a bouquet of golden flowers down the stream
To my love across the mountains.
With them I sent a winged flock above
To make their journey nicer with their singing.
Across the mountains my love’s heart beats for me.
He is mine only in his dark tomb, totally mine,
And around him seven enchanted gifts -
Golden flowers.
