Her lamenting sigh -- psyche resounds in every soul
For every gem taken from shore to shoals
Primordial strands of ebony and ire flow and glow
Within the firefalls of Pāka'alana
Her obsidian gown of most bijou flicker and glitter
Across the ashenvale of Lāhaināluna
Layer by layer the flow reaches water's edge:
The solar shores of Waikoloa
The lava lake recedes, the cauldron emptied:
The sunken caldera of Mauna Loa
And beneath the clouds of Kanaloa
All is violent, all around
The signs of Lono foretell of good-will
All is quiet, all is sound
