I never wanted to fade away
Yet here I am
Oh just another troubled youth on the diagram
"Do you like me"
"Why don't we just get out of here"
And for another night I lose myself and disappear
I say it's awful
The smoky grey crumbling view
Just makes me want to break away, run away
But you say it's normal
And so we keep tumbling through
And every day I'm hammered by this dire deja vu
On a night, like any other
My mind starts to wander, then I froze-
Out from the flickering shadows
She arose
The loser looks in the eyes of the monster
The room is caving in
It's okay, it's okay I say
And just like that, it turns into a girl, hey
A friendly baseball bat comes to save the day
Eternal rest never seemed to be closer
Than in that passing moment,
But quickly my fear was gone
A lapse of reason, I figure, can be pretty fun
And so the party goes on and on
I always wanted
To feel like I hold my own reins
My future's on the rails of freight trains, not
Daisy chains
She is laughing
"That's such an uncool thing to say!"
I miss the trashcan as I throw my cigarette away
I don't know what else I can tell you
"You know opening up is not that bad"
I think this music will surely
Drive me mad
The loser looks in the eyes of the monster
At last, he doesn't need to pretend or force a smile
"Oh I don't know if I'm lying or living a lie"
The monster's humming a lullaby
"Oh what's the use of escaping the future
when you can mold it into whatever you please?" she sings
And I don't know if it's something she really believes
My sadness seeps through my clenched teeth
The loser looks in the eyes of the girl and
The room is caving in, it's okay, it's okay I say
And just like that, she turns into a monster
There's nobody to show up and save the day
Eternal rest never seemed to be closer
Than in that passing moment,
But quickly my fear was gone
And even though all this mindless self-indulgence was fun
The party ends at the break of dawn
