I was just a little boy
but I thought like an adult,
and I had great hopes for the future.
And I studied without rest,
and at the licensing exam,
I finished first.
Then I saw two bright eyes,
with two bitter tears,
falling onto a sheet of white paper.
And, with my test finished,
as if giving her a flower,
I put it in her hand.
And love, love, love burned me,
and her eyes saw into my soul
that suffered, oh...
I see the leaves rustle in the sun,
I see the trees above me,
and I loved her, and I loved her, and I loved her.
A seagull against the wind
flies but seems to stand still,
much like my thoughts.
I have changed inside and out,
more respect for that feeling—
the past seems like yesterday.
And her bright, bright eyes—
and her bitter tears—
I no longer know where to find them.
And I know not if for better or for worse,
without conscience or courage,
I will continue to search for her.
And love, love, love that will be—
an arrow in your heart will hurt you.
I saw the leaves rustle in the sun,
I saw the trees above me,
and I call out to you, and I search for you, and I love you.
And love, love, love...
