The days of my youth were filled with feisty competition and striving
Then came the time of old age and maturity
Old people sit and remember how it used to be
Sure it was better but it wasn't good
Before I was lively but so stupid
thank God I grew out of that
Now I'm serious as you should be
And sure it's better but it isn't good
Some things should change and some should remain I guess
What's uncomfortable you change
What you miss you should have
And sure it's better but it isn't good
I live like a bachelor and I guess it works
But a man wants a woman and a woman wants a man
Alone is ok, but you should be two people
And sure it's better but it isn't good
So you live as a couple and you're happy for a period of time
Then the terrible sadness takes over
Then you look for freedom because you should be free
And sure it's better but it isn't good
And when you have lived, yes then you will die
tendons and bones become flowers and hay
Everything that has become should become what t was
And sure it's better but it isn't good
