My star is always with me,
My star burns within
And tells me: "Hold on,
Wait a little bit longer,
A long road lies ahead of us."
My star sounds in the night,
Its fire blazes within me,
But its light doesn't illuminate,
Her rays don't warm me,
It leads me to the far north.
And she'll never say "yes",
Will never rely on a miracle,
Will never grant a drop of light,
Won't give warmth to anyone.
And I love her for this.
And I love her for this.
But my star is indifferent to me.
The star shines within my chest,
She takes risks round after round,
We fly together,
Sing about this and that,
About drifting by the far north.
And all the seals, all the whales
Cry bitterly as they glimpse the star.
She doesn't warm anyone.
She doesn't give light to anyone.
She brings everybody to their innermost goal.
And she says: "Goodbye,
I'm leaving this land"
And each time she tells anew
The same old story -
About how she flies away from me,
And leaves forever.
That's how my star buries me.
