My cat was dead –
it hit a front fender –
but I knew of a place
that raises from the dead.
I took a shovel and a pair of boots too.
Backpack on my back I walked off into the night.

I took the best of cats.
Tonight it will come back!

Then in a dream I received a warning:
"The land is evil, you knew that too! *
It'll develop bad characteristics for sure...
the corpse will stink and the mouth will slaver."
I went back and I dug up that
grave but the cat I didn't see.

A claw scrapes the window.
The late cat is skulking about.
It sends shivers down my spine!
Wolves are howling and the moon is shining.
Tonight something terrible will happen!
