and all my hair, so dishevelled,
With my faded eyes in my face,
that make me look like a dreamer,
though I now dream not so often,
With my prowler's and lurker's hands,

that looted so many gardens...

that has bitten and kissed and kissed
yet always remaining thirsty..

my robber's face, vagabond's face,
With my skin rubbed but left unhurt
by the sunlight of all summers
and by every bit of skirt..
With my heart that knew how to hurt
as much as it got hurt
without
making too big a fuss for that,
With my soul that hasn't any
more chance of Salvation, really,
to avoid the Purgatory..
With my wog-like
mulatto's face,
Wandering Jew's or Greek shepherd's
ad all my hair, so dishevelled,
I shall call in, sweet captive , you
O , my twin soul, Fountain of youth,
and drink at once your twenty years..
And I'll be a prince for you, dear,
A dreamer or a teenager,
As you like it , or want to choose..
And we'll turn every day we live
into an eternity of love
that we'll enjoy
so much we'll die...
