Go on in children and stop bickering,
Walk calmly I know that you are capable,
Sit quietly, in your place, that’s it,
Listen to me this morning, do not open your binders.
We will not do grammar, geometry and conjugation.
We will not speak of complement objects and even less of Pythagoras.
This morning no tests and no one will be right.
Today no grades and no one will be wrong.
Children listen to me, I think I'm not well.
It hurts when I see the world and the humans scare me.
Children tell me, I understand nothing.
Why is there so much injustice, suffering and misfortunes ?
Last night one time too many I turned on the TV,
At the stroke of 20H, it was the news.
Suddenly in the room it was like an invasion,
Tears and pain were worse than aggression.
Last night the news had many more dead
Than the hairs on the head of Patrick Poivre d'Arvor.
Its like that every day, everywhere on Earth.
I think he did not live in the Third Millennium.
Like the darkest days of history, men are at war,
Soldiers kill without even knowing why.
If they were better acquainted, they could be brothers.
But their presidents feel it’s stronger like that.
And then there are all these religions that advocate every love,
But that produce hatred, murderers, terrorists.
For this or that belief, innocent people die every day,
All in the name of a god, we don’t know even exists.
Children sorry we let you into this Human mess,
You must know today that I try.
Grown up certainties sometimes cause damage.
In fact the adult is a big kid who thinks that he knows.
I have a stomach ache when I see children put money into weapons.
In rockets, submarines and aircraft carriers.
While entire nations are short of water, as our eyes lack tears.
And see their sons and daughters die of malnutrition.
Apparently nature herself has trouble feeding,
Men have polluted the air and even rotted the rain.
When you have nowhere with more water will you keep smiling ?
And even the smell of forests will fall into oblivion.
Children you know that it's natural resources,
If you do not know it does not matter anyways there are almost always more.
The words 'human' and 'waste' are eternal synonymous.
Ecology at school should not be a superfluous material.
Sorry we left you children, the Earth in this dirty state,
And soon our planet is going to feel cramped.
Keep your doubts, you alone can get us out of there,
The child is a little adult who knows that he believes.
