I saw happiness arrive
when we started to paint
a painting so real,
loving with a brush, and I never expected
that in leaving, you would stain
the life I wanted to illustrate.
I have nothing left
but to forgive you, erase and forget,
in the darkness
of the colors as I saw them weeping,
leaving the canvas
on which I can no longer love you,
and try again.
On another palette I will mix
paint that will speak of how to overcome,
and surely, finally,
each new color is a breath
that helps the heart to heal.
