I asked her to go on a trip with me
We'd get up early, in the morning.
We'd camp out near a river,
just before night fell.
I have hammocks, knives,
I have repellent for the flies
we'd eat piranha off the grill
and we'd have all the jungle to ourselves.
But no! But no!
She didn't want to go!
I asked her about it there
And she never wanted to come
And in the jungle the rivers, if they overflow, turn into swampland
And when the rainy season comes, you can't even get there
And she didn't want to come.
And what if I made a few calls
And recruited a few friends,
and we went out this evening
and played a game on the ice of the pond?
It's very thick, the ice will hold,
there's no risk, there's no danger!
Sport is good for you!
I promise, it'll be fun.
But no! But no!
She said maybe later.
I asked her there, I insisted,
but she never wants to come.
December is the ideal time for skating
But everyone knows that ice, if you let it sit too long, melts
And she didn't want to come.
Until one day, in the car
Excited, I proposed
To take the shortcut
through the windy canyon roads.
To appreciate some good views,
avoid the traffic,
invent our own route
because everyone's already on the highway.
But no! But no!
She said "Pull over, I want to get out."
I asked her there, I insisted
But she didn't want to change the route.
I stopped in the middle of an industrial estate, and instead of saying goodbye, she
cried, "there's no right path, only that everyone has their own"
And "Yes, the highway and the main road are very different options,
your way, and mine," she said, "I swear to you, they're nothing like each other".
And she got lost in some bushes whilst muttering that it was very sad
that I needed all this to be happy.
And she didn't want to go.
