A voice, louder than the other, talked from the balcony
A crowd, larger than the other, decided what do do
And the time came when this country had a single color
A line, straighter than the other, closed the border
Two dancers injured their feet on a barbed wire
With one leg, more crippled than the other, we tried to flee
With a skin of a different color we mixed our veins
Found, beaten and brought onto a snow field
And our blood, falling, seemed to have the same color
It was for fear of the execution or for pain
That, with an arm colder than the other, I held my love tight
She told me "You're cold, there's still warmth between my legs"
We started making love in front of the soldiers
She said, shivering "Let them see the way they were born,
Let them see how human beings were born"
With the eyes in each other's eyes we went to look
At two sheets of ice left by the blizzard
Suddenly blown by the first beams of spring
The soldier, blinder than the other, started to aim
And the one, more one-armed than the other, was ready to shoot
But the mutest soldier of all began to speak:
"Stop, lower your rifles, look at them well,
They're complaining to each other, they're all contorted,
Now they're falling to the ground, look at them, they're dead"
The eagle saw the serpent slithering on the snow
The soldiers, in a single line, were gone
While we had just arrived, just been reborn
