Winter never ends in Leningrad
And our walks along the Neva
Help us forget the cold
Will you return one day?
I'm living in Leningrad with my mom
Every now and then friends take me out
To a museum, to a restaurant
I've just turned 19
I'll be going to university in Novgorod
In October, mom's worried
But you're gonna be proud of me
Once I've finished my studies of the legal arts
When we feel sad at heart, mother and I
Listen to "Nathalie" after dinner
It makes her cry a little bit
And inspires me to dance
Remember, the Red Square was empty
Back then, mother was a guide
She keeps talking about Café Pouchkin incessantly
Those were the days of her life
I'd love to come to Paris
See the shops and the streets at night
But getting a passport
Is not that easy, believe me
In Leningrad, in long June nights
We enjoy American rock
And sing of your success
In French and English
Send us postcards
Of the Eiffel Tower, Versailles Castle
And color photos
Of my little sisters
I'm sending you a picture of me
My skirt is too long
But that's the style around here
Do I look like mother did
In Leningrad, everybody's waiting for you
In Leningrad, it will soon be spring
If you come back with him
Nathalie will be so happy
