Dazed and confused by doubt and jealousy,
A hapless bohemian sits in a gloomy bar.
His nerves are shattered, and he sobs helplessly,
Crazed and tormented by a jilting, unthinking woman.
His best friend, always at his side, tells him:
“That’s enough liquor now!
Wine won’t help; and whining won’t help.
Your heart just remembers her all the more!”
Then one night, like a crazy man, he bites his goblet,
So hard that he leaves an edge that cuts his lips.
Blood runs with the wine,
And his cry startles the entire bar.
"Worry not, my friend, that my lips are bleeding.
Don't fear, it’s what I wish: with the edge of this glass
To erase every trace of her cheating kiss
"Bartender, serve me the broken goblet!
Pour more, let my fever obsess me.
Bartender, serve me the broken glass!
I want to shed every drop of her poison love.
Bartender, serve me the broken goblet!"
