I've born to be just a tramp
And with bare feet I go round the world.
I saw a dream once: a heavenly swan
Let me travel with him* for a while.
I saw the lands and the forests, the lakes of my dear land,
All that I saw from a blue sky.
The wind sang its songs,
The shine of a fairytale covered the ground,
I can never see anything more wonderful.
And the wind sang this song to me:
"The own land is always the most beautiful,
So many thought the others were better,
But got disappointed.
Nowhere does the sky shine more blue,
Nowhere does the snow shimmer brighter.
Imprint this on your heart,
So the sky will always be clear,
And from your journey the sorrow will fade far away."
So ended the dream but still I await
To meet the swan once,
And until that I trust on my dreams;
It's easy for a human to dream.
That's why I'm barefoot, looking for my happiness,
And fade worries away with my song.
Life is lovely,
When one really realizes that
And when one flies on white wings like a swan.
