I remember how as a child
The city centre was packed
We frequented that candy store
Every saturday with my little brother
Now it's been glued to the store's window
A weekly notice for the falling prices
It didn't have enough people visiting
They were in a haste to leave away to seek their happiness
Everybody moved to Helsinki
And left hometown
Now we are reminiscing in our small studios
The Kouvola we left behind
Why did everyone move to that Helsinki
It's expensive there and anyways
The less anxiety you feel
The nearer you are to Kouvola
There isn't that school anymore
Which I took off with the doors slamming
It got set on fire on the February
When I got the key to my studio flat
It got me thinking
That what if
When I come back nothing will be like it used to be
I searched friends from the wrong bars
Everything changed while I was away
Everybody moved to Helsinki
And left the hometown
Now we are reminiscing in our small studios
The Kouvola we left behind
Why did everyone move to that Helsinki
It's expensive there and anyways
The less anxiety you feel
The nearer you are to Kouvola
I'm coming home, yay (woo)
I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming
When that road six is finally under me
I press down on the gas pedal when the countryside is flashing through the windows
I should visit there more often
I belong there
When you've left far away, you understand better
All of what has always been in your reach
Sweet home Kouvola, here I'm coming
Why is everyone moving to Helsinki
And leaving hometown
When you'll feel less anxiety
The nearer you are to Kouvola
