When you understand with the mind that you're alone in the world
And the way of loneliness is so long,
Then living is easy and you think of death
As the last drop of a bitter wine.
Here's my glass, in it there's no longer even a gulp
Of that life that was sweet as honey,
In it there's just the bitterness of an undiluted sadness,
Remaining in the old man's portion.
My glass is full, but to friends I don't stand
Anymore offering my beverage,
I love them; God, give them happiness,
Let them drink water from under the faucet.
For the world I do many good deeds,
In the eternal centuries people won't forget them,
And if everything comes out how I wished
Oh, good God, the world will be so beautiful.
The suffering was sent upon my head,
The despair was sent to my sincere soul,
Sent to me the faith, I will sing about it
And give me strenght to become happy.
