'T'al camin dea vita a meza vìa,

me go catà 't'a 'na boscaja scura

ché 'a strada dreta 'a gavéa smarìa.

Ahi, dirve quanto 'a jera la xe dura

'sta boscaja salvèga, agra e forte

che sol pensarghe me torna 'a paura!

Tanto 'a xe amara che xe squasi morte;

ma par dirve del bon che go catà,

anca 'ste robe qua toca ve 'e conte.

No savarìa dir ben come so'entrà:

tanto insonà za jero mi a chel ponto

che go 'a me vera strada sbandonà.
