To live in solitude, in the peace and silence,
on the edge of the reality,
while the wind was blowing hard at Auschwitz,
and was ventilating the piety,
you have left the things of the world,
the deep thoughts of unfathomable flights,
for a light you felt inside, the invisible truth.
Where is Edith Stein?
Where is she?
On May mornings the air was filled
by the the perfume, at the cloisters of the Carmel from Echt.
Inside the cloister, someone passing by,
was choosing the angels.
And, in your desire of Heaven, a voice in the air was heard:
The jews are not humans.
And on a truck or a motorcycle, whichever,
they took you to Auschwitz.
Where is Edith Stein?
Where is she?
To live in solitude, in the peace and silence
of the Carmel from Echt.
