Oh, ice dynamic
Oh, so transluscent
Quivering beneath
A light blue sky
The winds they drive
They make it sing
On the venture to the sea
Quaking, cracking, crumbling
A shining snow-tuffed surface
Like a mirror reflecting frigid
Images that rise nearby
Its crusted, crumbling edges
They frame the grandeur
With wisps and ripples
Snowy blemishes frozen wake
Heaves and falls aligned
Pits and pinches healed
Like the scars of wounds
The water stirred cloudy
By exposure's balsam
At the bank's brim
Its frigid coagulation
A low resounding wail
Keeps ringing through
On its slow journey afar
Speaking of winter's part
When waters begin to awaken
The berms and drifts decay
Thawing to feed its rebirth
Soon stacked layers shall shed
Sediments that journeyed so far
Fertile silt, a boon to life
Flora and fauna nourished so
Sounded in melting declaration
