Heures creuses [English translation]

You know, you see the procession of peak times

Which never stops

Invincible in his back and forth

Who is able to know what you're thinking

Where you're drifting, sitting down,

Immobile in the middle of these cadences ?

(chorus x2)

Off-peak times

You just wanna be happy

During the lunch break

You cross, uncross your arms and languish

Of thousands of great escapes

And Sadie Hawkins dance 1

Who is able to know

What your empty hands want

How many times they let go

Time between their fingers ?

(chorus x2)

Off-peak times

(for how many times ?)

You just wanna be happy

(will you be useless during the lunch break ?)

Of-peak times

(for how many times ?)

You just wanna be happy

(will you take the control during the lunch break ?)

1. Literal translation would be "american quarter of hour". Actually, in the past, it was the time during the ball when it was the girls asking the boys to dance, and it just lasted for 15 minutes. I didn't find any exact translation for this expression. As in the rest of the original lyrics, there's a play on words with lexical field of hours.
