Where does it go and why?

Dreaming much and long, a moment passed

That river which ran

Where the rocky ground was

Eroded away over a thousand years

Under the ancient earth

The rigid slab

Which by Beinisvørð*

My mind was grounded

The beautiful whalebone cliff

Breaks the white surf

Takes its time

Like an abyss

Stars stand high

An age without its own force and might

All coming years

Each gone one spring

The riddle of beginning and end is made clear in the sea

If the illusion disappeared

And betrayed all my hopes

The mind would descend in the abyss

The stars soon fall

And this evening fate steps on my doorstep
