[Baroness of Waldstätten (spoken)]
I'd like to tell you a story:
There was once a king
Who lived with his son
In a castle
That stood in a magical garden
And because the king was old
And disappointed with the world
The wall was very tall
And the door was always locked
"There is," said the king
"No better place"
But the prince's longing told him
"You must leave here!"
On some nights gold falls from the stars
You can find it, somewhere
Where no one else has been
Existing means changing, living means learning
When you seek the gold from the stars
You must go into danger alone
"You'll be defeated out there"
The father told his son
"So be like me
And stay in our magical garden
I keep you safe
It's only to protect you
That the wall is so tall
And the door is always locked"
The king's love
Showed in every word
But the prince's longing told him
"You must leave here"
At the world's edge gold falls from the stars
And whoever finds it reaches
What was unreachable
Existing means changing, living means learning
When you seek the gold from the stars
You must go into danger alone
Love means sometimes you're able to let go
Love means sometimes lovers are parted
Love means not asking for your own happiness
Love means saying through your tears:
Far from here gold falls from the stars
You can find it, somewhere
Where no one else has been
Existing means changing, living means learning
When you seek the gold from the stars
You must leave your home
And it falls to you
To go alone into the world full of danger
Into the world full of danger!
