When Bering reached the north-west channel
For the first time in his life,
He walked out to the desserted sea shore
And the steamer was passing by there.
Bonapart worked as cook there
But he never prepared food -
Just looked with fierce eyes
at the mirror-like surface of empty water.
So he rushed wildly between the rocks
And cut the water, like the dagger.
Well, he was not looking for happiness
and he was not running from happiness too.
