Fyra Bugg och en Coca-cola [English translation]

You who think your day is gray

The Earth will spin around anyway

Doesn't care very much about

Who went and who came

Soon a sun will be shining again

On a flowery meadow

Warm winds from long ago

Strike up a refrain

Four Buggs1 and a Coca-Cola

Play cool music on a Walkman2

Four Buggs and a Coca-Cola

A scent of summer and romance

Du you want to live and do you want to dance?

Dare to laugh and dare taking a chance?

Four Buggs and a Coca-Cola

Play cool music on a Walkman

La la la...

You who have been waiting so long

All your longing shall be fulfilled

Look ahead and you will see

Soon it will happen

Down to the coast by train and car

Our whole gang travels

Warm winds in summer

Strike up our refrain

Four Buggs and a Coca-Cola

Play cool music on a Walkman

Four Buggs and a Coca-Cola

A scent of summer and romance

Du you want to live and do you want to dance?

Dare to laugh and dare taking a chance?

Four Buggs and a Coca-Cola

Play cool music on a Walkman

A melody finds its way

Gives us warmth and a new harmony

It feels okay, don't say no

Dare to dance, dare to sing like us

Four Buggs and a Coca-Cola

Play cool music on a Walkman

Four Buggs and a Coca-Cola

A scent of summer and romance

Du you want to live and do you want to dance?

Dare to laugh and dare taking a chance?

Four Buggs and a Coca-Cola

Play cool music on a Walkman

1. Bugg was a brand of chewing gum that was popular in Sweden in the 70s-90s and was discontinued in 2002. I chose to keep the name instead of translating it as "chewing gum", because it was never a generic term for chewing gum even at it's peak popularity (and besides, I don't want to whitewash this questionable piece of Swedish music history). https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bugg_(tuggummi)2. For inexplicable reasons "freestyle" was the "Swedish" name for the Sony Walkman and similar portable cassette players, and later also portable CD players ("CD-freestyle"). This naming convention only went out of use on the advent of the MiniDisc players, mp3 players and iPods. Why the people in the lyrics chose something as anti-social as a Walkman to listen to music on at their beach party, no one knows.
