Hence, upon an idle occasion
I look up into the depth of sky
To a limitless, spatial sphere
Where the clouds cling mysteriously
My spirit takes flight, unbridled
Earthly concerns are left abandoned
Like that golden eagle aloft
Soaring over the eternal steppe
No inhibitions, no limits of men
Through that immeasurable blue
The transition from earthly things
And above it, a heavenly realm
A spirit so vast that overtakes
Its grace and grandeur nebulous
Imperceivable and unchained
No obstacle can hinder me
So it is from time to time
When the doldrums lag on so
When the thick, stale air choking
Tries to steal a purposed life
There is a golden desire to be
In living beyond the body brings
Where the life's frailties fall away
And the spirit is free to take wing
Above those clouds of drab grey
There, it is always brilliant blue
Heaven's gate swings open inviting
So it is, from time to time
