There in transport's history
Amid the grandeurous clamor
That steam and diesel have brought
Where progress took mankind far
And brought so many wonders
The delights of civilization's making
But every road has a beginning
And each route, an ending
Yet at times it is so very difficult
To know the difference of them
A vague destination unnamed
The journey long, or too short
At the limits of gated perimeters
Lie the vassals outcast led
Lights to extinguish enmasse
On this, the chemin du fer
Where all paths may forever cease
Or escape is expedited liberation
But those depots stand empty
Their sojourners silently wait
In eternal anticipation of relief
A scene once somber, grievous
Where whistles sound daily
Arrivals, departures willfully forgotten
