You open the door and head out
Without even a goodbye
My dear, don't run away now
The time is coming
For me to return to your side
You leave the key at the door
In a vase of flowers for you
And in this last move
You see that upon leaving home
You shan't have a way back to me
I know, if the night takes with it the day
There won't be any sun left to see
I know that you're not coming back
And I, made a coward
Shan't move on
But instead, shall wait for you
You leave pain in my voice
It grows so hoarse with grief
And all these verses about us
Are now just another poem
To read one day
Should we become grandparents
I mutter softly in the ear
Of whomever wishes to hear
My dream is to end up with you
And if one day I succeed
I swear that you'll never
Run away from me again
I know, if the night takes with it the day
There won't be any sun left to see
I know that you're not coming back
And I, made a coward
Shan't move on
But instead, shall wait for you
