There was the untold saying.

And the guitars, being heard

Under the beat of other tunes,

Do hide sorrow in the trilling of their strings...

And the poet, being watched,

Being forced to whistle,

Weeps over fate's grieves, without showing it...

And, by a campfire's warmth, a friend

With a warmed up voice, does intone

That melancholy,

Rather than a crime, is a punishment
